The Sensory Dispensary

I have spent the majority of the last three days going through the re-enrollment process for our health insurance. Our monthly premium was set to go up almost $500 a month compared to last year so we had to find a more affordable plan. In addition we were moved from the federal marketplace to an Illinois specific site. There seemed to be less choice, 3 of the 5 companies available had unbelievably poor reviews and reputation.

3 days of digging through web sites, comparing deductibles, copays, coinsurance, in network, blah blah… this all with the knowledge that finding a plan that my therapist was on is essential, as moving to a new provider is non-negotiable.

We had to go through this last year due to a shake up with the medical group leaving the plan so we had to find all new doctors, and now we are doing it again.

So what the fuck does all this have to do with the song I am sharing? Because it all comes down to our government accomplishing absolutely nothing that will actually help the American people, and actually doing the opposite – cutting subsidies and essentially making health insurance unaffordable to a large number of people.

To paraphrase Roger Waters, we have a nincompoop as president. One so focused on being a white supremacist who also makes stupid financial decisions, and has the rest of his party essentially afraid to disagree with him. Mike Johnson is a useless piece of shit who guarantees the House is also useless and ineffective at accomplishing anything that is a counter to our autocratic POTUS and the increased Fascism  in our country.

The Democrats aren’t any better right now, they are leaderless and rudderless and completely incapable of countering the insanity being pushed out by the other side.

They all get rich on insider trading, have unbelievable benefits they gave themselves, and aren’t doing anything that is beneficial on an individual level, being so focused on optics, spin, avoidance and blame to actually stand up for the constituents who voted them in.

Useless, the whole lot of them, just useless. The whole system is broken and I find very few indications that it is going to change anytime soon,
