“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Wake Up (Next to You) – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

We had an amazing full moon tonight which made me think I should post a song that is moon related, of which there are many. “Moondance”, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Moon On Your Pyjamas”, “Moonage Daydream”, “Fool’s Moon”, “Man on the Moon”, “Harvest Moon”, “Walking on the Moon”, “Bark at the Moon”, and oh so many more.

The first one that came to my mind was “Watch the Moon Come Down” by Graham Parker which is just a remarkable song. The problem is that I already posted that one about the moon we saw in Albuquerque back in May.

So I thought about picking another moon song but then I decided that I really wanted to hear more Graham Parker, so I chose “Wake Up (Next to You)” from the 1985 release Steady Nerves.

In a just world, Graham Parker would be recognized as the magnificently talented artist he is by more than the handful of people who are currently aware of him. I mean, listen to this song, this is all you need right here.
