1001 Albums Day 87 – Hard Again

/

Chicago Blues musician Muddy Waters playing electric guitar in front of microphone

What a tremendously enjoyable album. I think if you’re going to listen to good old Chicago Blues you probably should start right here with Muddy Waters, and “Mannish Boy” with that killer repeating riff that kicks things off.

These songs set a mood and it’s easy to just get wrapped up in them and go along for the ride. It’s sort of funny that for a bunch of guys playing blues music, they sure sounded like they were having fun, and it sure brings me joy to listen.
