What an amazing voice, so strong and forceful but with nuance and soul and a crackle. The band is great and she is great and the album is great. For me, her version of Kris Kristofferson’s “Me and Bobby McGee” is the star here. I normally shy away from the big hit and the obvious but she puts everything in to this one and it slays. What a triumph. A sad triumph, but a triumph still.
