What do you mean we?

“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

I love the thing that happens on the internet, particularly in software support forums, where one person decides they can speak on behalf of myself and the rest of a product’s users (We), as if it is inconceivable to them that not everyone shares their opinion, preferences, priorities, etc..
Add to that, of course, their magical all-knowing deep knowledge of a companies plans and priorities, along with an uncanny ability to ascertain and understand the complexity of a product’s code base so they can determine the feasibility of making “trivial” updates and changes that are essential to us. I mean, it’s just a database, how hard can it be to add…..
I didn’t elect you as my spokesperson, so speak for yourself or shut your goddamn mouth.
All this reminds me of that old Lone Ranger / Tonto joke – “What do you mean we….?”
