“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

AI_IMAGE: A dimly lit vintage record store back room, shot at eye level across wooden bins overflowing with vinyl LPs. Warm amber light from a single hanging bulb casts deep shadows. Faded concert posters line the dark walls. Wisps of incense smoke curl through the golden light. The mood is intimate, analog, and deeply atmospheric with rich sepia and brown tones against near-black shadows. | photorealistic | landscape

You And The Clouds Will Still Be Beautiful – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

“You And The Clouds Will Still Be Beautiful”
XTC
FROM Wasp Star (Apple Venus Volume 2) (2000)
Even though I call these songs random, there is usually some sort of prompt during my day which inspires them. Today’s song I will call truly random though. No idea why it popped in to my head (other than it being just a darned good song worthy of playing on my internal station) so I thought I would share.

This album capped off the wonderfully creative and illustrious career of XTC, and in my opinion they went out on a high note. Not a bad run these guys had. I don’t think there’s a bad album in the bunch but damn you’ve got – starting in 1983:

Mummer
The Big Express
Skylarking
Oranges & Lemons
Nonsuch
Apple Venus Volume 1
Wasp Star (Apple Venus Volume 2)

All are considered essential in my book (or they would be if I had a book…)
