“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

I Will Not Take These Things For Granted – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

I did a really cool online call with Kelly Carlin and the Humans On The Verge group the other day. It was called Gathering the Gifts and it was all about revisiting this past year and identifying all the things that happened, planned or unplanned, wins, losses, accomplishments and things that maybe didn’t play out as expected.

It made me realize just what an impactful year this has been, and despite some significant challenges, there really was a lot to celebrate as well. I am trying to be more mindful of my successes and the positive aspects of my life rather than focusing on the negative. It is hard some days but I just need to make a point to really appreciate the gifts that I have been given. I am a very lucky man.

I thought that this song by Toad The Wet Sprocket seemed appropriate.

I tend to listen to Dulcinea most but fear and coil and the others are also so damn good.

  1. A really touching song. It’s all too easy to get caught up in what we don’t have while turning a blind eye to that which is perfectly perfect.
