In response to the absolute cowardice of Disney in their buckling to threats by the authoritarian regime in control of our current administration, leading to the removal of Jimmy Kimmel’s show, we have canceled our Disney+ / Hulu account.

We have also discontinued any viewing of content appearing on the local ABC affiliate here in Chicago (part of ABC Owned Television Stations, which is owned by Disney Entertainment Television)
We have also discontinued any viewing of content appearing on WGN TV here in Chicago. WGN is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group who announced their plans to preempt Kimmel’s show from its ABC affiliates directly leading to the full scale removal of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from the airwaves. Even though they don’t own the ABC affiliate here in Chicago, they do own WGN – so fuck them.
Nexstar also owns the CW, and if they ever show anything remotely worth watching on that network, we’ll not watch it there as well.
Nexstar also owns 31% of The Food Network. We used to occasionally watch Tyler whatshisname and the Food Truck Race but – poof! We’ll live.
For a company that makes a ton of movies about heroes, and people doing the right thing, and being brave (I mean, Disney owns Pixar who made Brave!) this is repulsive behavior. I bet Merida would like to explain to you what bravery actually looks like!
