“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Come Back Now – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

Group shot of the band The Blizzard of 78 with members seated on a couch

Thanks to the Internet Archive Wayback Machine I was able to find my first post about the band The Blizzard of 78, and their debut album Where All Life Hangs.

It looks like I first blogged about them in March of 2008 and although I don’t really specify it seems I found them via last.fm back when they streamed music.

At the time they were working on the follow up Book of Lies which was released in December 2008. This song comes from that second album.

Interestingly enough, these guys were from Rhode Island and in 2010 I worked for a CRM Company out of Rhode Island. Obviously I worked remotely but I did get out there twice for company retreats and I remember talking to the band hoping they were playing while I was there. I even floated the idea of hiring them to play at the company picnic I was there to attend.

Unfortunately I never did get to see them and they broke up soon after. This is such a neat song though.
