“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Faded concert posters line the dark walls. Wisps of incense smoke curl through the golden light. Random Song of the Day (RSOTD) – America

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel in studio circa 1968

Simon & Garfunkel’s 1968 release Bookends is really a remarkable album, and my favorite from the duo. “Old Friends” is gorgeous and while “Hazy Shade of Winter” and “At the Zoo” are both brilliant, the standout track for me has always been “America” – with its clever lyrics and one of the best examples of just how good their voices sounded together in harmony.
