Over the weekend I listened to an album that I haven’t heard in a really, really long time, so long that I couldn’t really remember if it was good or bad. All I remembered about Harry Nilsson’s Nilsson Schmilsson was that it had the song “Without You” on it – and in my mind I was sure I hated that song.
But this being the year of the album, and using my unorthodox attempts at randomness and variety, this one came up and I begrudgingly hit play. Hot damn, I wasn’t expecting it but this is a fine listen. Even “Without You” had taken on some sort of epic horribleness in my head over the years that just wasn’t present when it came on.
My memory had failed me here and since I was probably like 12 or 13 when I formed this opinion, I guess I can cut it some slack, but this albums is a keeper for sure.
