“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Three Marlenas – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

/

Group shot of the band The Wallflowers

I discovered a new last.fm tool that someone created that chooses a random album from your library with certain listening criteria you can set. I sometimes try to dig through the library to find stuff I haven’t listened to in a while but with 20 years of history it’s no easy task.

This surfaces some interesting things – including Bringing Down the Horse, the 1996 release from The Wallflowers which I haven’t spun in a while. I really liked the album but “Three Marlenas” has always been a standout track for me. I found this live version from Letterman I enjoyed so decided to share it rather than the music video.

  1. Great song, takes me back to the days….

    1. It is amazing how music can do that, transports us back in time and triggers memories and smells and even how we felt when we heard it. We saw them with Counting Crows a million years ago and it was so great.
