Daily Joyful – Prescription Pharmaceuticals

“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Yesterday I was trying to process what was probably the most hurtful thing that has ever been said to me. Today I was still reeling from it, feeling hurt and angry, and betrayed, and trying to figure out what to do or say in response.
It was an extremely difficult day and the closest thing I can think of that is even remotely joyful about today is that I thankfully have a nurse practitioner who has prescribed for me medications (in conjunction with therapy) to help deal with mental health challenges like depression and anxiety.
Today it was Xanax to help quell the overwhelming anxiety I was feeling about this really troubling experience, and what was just a shitty fucking day all around.
Yay for science and doctors and of course legally prescribed pharmaceuticals.

It’s sad but true that sometimes we need to be medicated for someone else’s sickness. We are merely the fallout trying to survive what they cause.
