“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Random Song of the Day (RSOTD) – Six Months In A Leaky Boat

/

Group shot of the band Split Enz 1982

I saw a news article this morning that Split Enz are having a reunion to headline the Electric Avenue festival in February 2026, the first time the full band will perform in 16 years.

I always liked Split Enz, very cool and very interesting and then even more so when Neil Finn joined, because, well Neil Finn makes everything better.

You are probably familiar with “I Got You”, “Message To My Girl”, or “I See Red” – great songs all – but “Six Months In A Leaky Boat” has always been one of my favorites. I love the haunting ending, just outstanding.
