If you have read my reviews so far, it might be obvious that hip hop is not something that I enjoy and I don’t normally choose to listen to it. Paul’s Boutique is really the lone exception.
I guess the difference between this and other albums in the genre is that this feels sort of like a rock and roll record, albeit one with samples and rap. Maybe it’s an attitude that is conveyed, there is humor in the lyrics, it’s clever.
I don’t listen to this often but occasionally, when Gina is not around, I put it on and turn up the volume really high. Then I tuck it back away until next time.
Oddly enough I really like this one even though it samples the Eagles and I really usually despise them. “Those Shoes” is cool though.
