Ten Years Gone – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

The band Led Zeppelin

I have no qualms about the inclusion of Led Zeppelin in the top tier of rock bands.There is certainly no denying the talent, the influence and of course, the popularity. I like them a lot and listen to them quite often.

What I have never understood, however, is the adoration for “Stairway to Heaven” to the level that it has reached. It’s a fine song but it’s far from their best. It’s not even the best song from IV much less their whole catalog. I can think of a dozen songs off the top of my head that I enjoy more and think are better suited to be the quintessential Led Zeppelin song.
