“The record you didn’t know you needed is what I am listening to in the other room.”

Oblivious – Random Song of the Day (RSOTD)

/

YouTube music automagically creates some playlists (they call them mixes) for me that change all the time. I usually listen to the SuperMix which is a little bit of everything but occasionally I like the others as they are a bit more focused. Mix 4 promised me some Joe Jackson and Elvis Costello, which sounded good to me., so I gave that a play. It turned out to be a really good mix of 80s new wave stuff. XTC, Blondie, Talking Heads and such.

I also heard an Aztec Camera song I hadn’t heard in a really long time. I wanted to share it because I really like it and, for once, I am sharing something by them that isn’t Rainy Season (Ok, I cheated and linked to it, just so you can take a few minutes to hear one of the greatest songs ever written…)

Oblivious is good too, as are quite a few things by Roddy Frame and crew. While pulling this one up, I found some live footage of Roddy, Neil Finn and Graham Gouldman that I need to visit later….

I hope you enjoy.
