1001 Albums Day 8 – Unhalfbricking

Unhalfbricking – Fairport Convention

I know very little about Fairport Convention other than the names Richard Thompson and Sandy Denny, and a smattering of songs I have heard over the years. I liked this though, a mix of traditional folk songs and obscure Dylan covers. The musicianship is top notch and Sandy’s voice is a bit of an acquired taste but it fits the music perfectly. I particularly liked “A Sailor’s Life” so that is featured.

  1. Good selection. It was many years ago when I started listening to them because a couple of members of Jethro Tull were in and out of the band. Don’t recall the details, but FC was a solid band.

    1. Yeah, I need to spend some more time with them. I like Richard Thompson a lot. Shoot Out The Lights is a favorite.
